Multilevel Marketing Tips – Proven Advice on How You Can Network with the Right People

How often do you find yourself saying, “I wish I knew how to network with the right people?” As a network marketer, you might have realized that it’s about time for you take your MLM business to the next level—the internet. You might have also realized that it takes a lot of work to learn all that Internet stuff and so you would like to do it the easier way. Here’s the truth—there is simply no shortcut. Most successful internet network marketers have learned their lessons the hard way. Any multilevel marketing guru will tell you that you have to develop skills and that this will take a little time. So, if you’d rather not continue frustrating yourself by calling people you don’t know to tell them about your MLM opportunity, then you must focus on learning how to conquer the internet.
You see, most network marketers fail to recognize something that has always been at the front of their noses—networking. Network marketers are different from other marketers in a sense that they have the ability to network with people. This industry is all about networking, remember? It may seem strange but some, if not most network marketers are reluctant to connect with fellow network marketers. Why is this so?
Some don’t exchange ideas with other marketers in this field because they are either “not a part of my MLM company,” from a “competitor company,” or “belonging to my company but are therefore the competition.” This is definitely the wrong way of thinking with regards to fellow network marketers. With this frame of mind, you are isolating yourself on an island wherein you have to figure out for yourself what works and what doesn’t in promoting products and generating leads. You can’t just hang around until the next big ship comes to get you out of that island. It’s about time you start networking with people, and by that I mean the right people. These are the people who have more experience than you and are successful in this business no matter what company they are involved with. If you start networking with your fellow network marketers, you will actually learn how to market better and this also means you will develop new skills.
Here are some tips on how you can network with the right people:
Link up with them on Twitter and other social networks, by making smart comments on their blog and video channels, and by addressing your questions through e-mail. See how these people respond and you will be able to decipher how reputable they are.
Sign up for their newsletter or RSS feed. Find out what these people are involved with, what they are up to, and what they have to offer you. If you are not learning anything and if signing up for their list doesn’t help you, simply unsubscribe and unfollow them.
Purchase their products. Top network marketers sell nothing but the best quality products. If they don’t, their credibility will ceases to exist. If you want to know if these are the right people to learn something from, buying products that they sell will help.
Put into action what they teach. This pointer simply can’t be overstated. Success in whatever business you are in calls for action. Implement what these people are teaching and see the difference it will make in your business.
Be the first to follow a person. Follow that person on his blog, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or other social networks, and test out if you can connect with them in a personal level. You will need to ensure that they offer valuable information which is a way of knowing their expertise.
Provide value to them. You may have already followed them on Twitter or purchased any product they are selling, and it’s time to give value to the business relationship. You just can’t take and take and disregard offering value. This should be a give and take relationship.
It is a great way of changing your business for the better by building relationships with other network marketers. Start building one today and focus on the exchange of value to your fellow network marketers. If some people find it hard or tedious or simply lack the willingness to connect, that doesn’t mean you can’t too. You are a person with credibility and you have a lot of brilliant ideas to share to the world—go for it!

Sensational advice Al. Never forget that we’re all in this together; literally. The only competition is our own ignorance. Meet fellow network marketers. Share insight. You’ll become more adept by learning from other MLM’ers and they will appreciate the value which you offer them. It never hurts to have friends in any industry.
You are so right on Ryan. Working together creates a synergy that you can not attain on your own. Thanks for your thoughts.
Thanks for the great advice! I just signed up for my first MLM company and this have been a big help!
Hi K – Glad to hear that you have gone ahead and joined an MLM. The only way you can succeed is to find a real opportunity and then go for it. If you don’t actually go for it – then you will never have a chance at making it. Glad you took the step. Wishing you the best.
Al

These are great pointers. I am 3 weeks into my first MLM venture, and I must say I need all the help I can get. I appreciate the honesty that there are NO SHORTCUTS…this is still a business and even though we may spend much of the time at home (I don’t, I like meeting people outside) we still have to remember that this is a business, not a hobby.
I am learning more about using the internet. Unfortunately most of the people in my upline are not internet savy. So when I come across a blog like yours I am excited.
Thats about it from me gotta make my calls. PS how do I get my pic in the comment like ryan?
The great thing about mixing with network marketers online is there is no competition out there! You can learn from people all over the globe
Powerful advice here AL.. If people could just see that there is no difference in communication online than it is meeting a new friend. We just have to take off the business hat and be ourselves.
Hi Al, Your post hits all the buttons. The critical thing in succeeding in Network Marketing on the internet is choosing the right company and the right sponsor. This is no different from an offline choice, really. Once we have done that then we should stick with it and just do something to market our business every single day. Online there are many, many choices to do that. There are free strategies in abundance;social networking, traffic exchanges, forums, blog commenting, article marketing. Lots and lots of things we can do. You have identified most. So great post.
Thank you and best wishes
Peter
Great blog, you are right that this opens the doors for many people in mlm that didn’t feel comfortable approaching their warm market but at the same time it makes our industry much more competitive. I’ve always believed that sharing what I know is not dangerous because less than 5% of the people who get information will actually take action on it. Thanks Again Al.
Hi Al,
This is the first time I visit your blog. Very useful article!
Thanks for sharing!

Al,
This is awesome advice man. I’ve always thought it’s a good idea to work together with other network marketers, rather than working against each other.
We need to help each other succeed, to improve the reputation of our industry and give more people hope.
I really liked your advice about following other people, signing up for their RSS and email list. This is such a great way to learn.
Keep up the good work.
